Davey Smith Architects is a Clontarf based Architectural and Planning studio established in 2010 with a strong design ethos and recognition of our professional duty to deliver well planned, creative, workable and cost effective solutions to our clients.

The work of DSA aims to deliver architectural and planning excellence within the control of budget and program. We manage projects to achieve optimum architectural quality, efficient use of resources and best value. Each project is developed individually through detailed dialogue with the Client, so that an informed and inspired solution can be achieved. Our aim is to provide an integrated design that is light filled, energy efficient and contemporary, backed up with an efficient and professional service.

 

Davey and Smith Architects was established in 2010 and is a growing architectural practice. We use BIM technology in our work on a range of mixed use commercial, residential and domestic projects in Dublin and Cork.

The practice deals with all current Architectural and Planning issues such as Appropriate Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIS’s), Strategic Development Zones (SDZ) planning issues, and planning consultancy and advice to developers, Local Authorities and associations such as the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) and the Irish House Builders Association (IHBA) on matters such as density issues, land availability and impacts of Building Regulations.

We have extensive construction experience on site and are familiar with all current construction techniques including, precast concrete, steel frame, timber frame and composite structures.

Greg Davey Director

Greg Davey is a registered architect and a qualified architectectural technologist. He has over fifteen years experience working in architecture in Ireland

and abroad. Greg graduated from DIT Bolton Street in 1998 with a Diploma in Architectural Technology. After working in private practice in Dublin, he returned to DIT to study Architecture and graduated with an honours degree. He has spent the last 10 years working with various offices including Mecanoo Architects in the Netherlands, FKL Architects, DTA Architects and OMP Architect in Ireland. He has led design teams for the completion of a number of large scale commercial and residential projects through all stages of the planning and development process.

 

Greg is a Registered Architect is a Member of the

Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.

David Smith Director

MRIAI DipArch. BArch Sc [Hons]

 

David Smith is a registered architect with over fifteen years experience working in architecture in Ireland. He graduated from DIT Bolton Street in 2000 with an Honours Degree in Architecture. Since graduating, David has worked with FKL Architects, DTA Architects, and J McSweeney Architects and has experience in a wide variety of commercial, cultural and domestic projects. From 2006-2008 David was President of the Architectural Association of Ireland and has also sat on the Council of the Royal Institute of Architects of

Ireland.

 

David is a Registered Architect and a member of

the RIAI and Honorary Member of the AAI

Laura Aughey [Senior Architect]

MRIAI, BArch, RIAI Grade III Conservation Architect

Lora graduated from University College Dublin in 1994 and worked with a number of firms in America and Ireland including

Scott Tallon Walker before opening her own award winnng practice in Aughey O’Flaherty Architects 1999. Over the

next 12 years she worked as a Project Director on a extensive range of institutional, and commercial projects including

Ballyfermot College and has a proven track record in the delivering of fast track projects on time and on budget.

Lora is a RIAI accredited Grade III conservation Architect and in 2009 successful completed the RIAI examination to act

as Project Supervisor for the Design Process and has completed the FAS Safety Pass training.

 

Richard Callaghan [Senior Technician]

BSc [Hons] Architecure Technology

Richard Callaghan is an architectural technologist with 12 years experience in private practice working on large and

small scale residential, community, commercial and mixed use developments with responsibilities including preparing

planning permissions, fire safety certificate and DAC applications, tender packages, working drawings and inspecting

and co-ordinating the on-site construction process. Richard was awarded First Class Honours in the BSc (Hons) degree

in Architectural Technology. Currently he is in the process of completing a MSc in Energy Retrofit Technology.

 

Scott Morton [Project Architect]

BArch [Hons] Bsc

Scott Morton is an honours graduate architect from University College Dublin School of Architecture with

over four year experience working on large and small scale residential developments.

 

Melina Bonetto [Project Architect]

BArch [Hons]

Melina Bonetto is an honours graduate architect from National University of Rosario School of Architecture

with over five year experience working on large and small scale residential and commercial developments.
